Manawhenua - Introduction Document

This document gives a brief description of the history of the Manawhenua process, the purpose of the consultation hui, discussion items that have came from Legal Counsel, Ngati Kuri, Te Aupouri & Ngai Takoto constituents, and the next steps from here.

We will continue to update this document as the consultation hui moves around the rohe, but this will be a helpful guide as to where the Manawhenua Process has come from, has been, and where it's going.

We invite all participants to come along to these hui, and download the documentation in preparation for them.

Te Rarawa Manawhenua Consultation Hui - August 27, 2010

On Friday August 27, 2010 Te Hiku o Te Ika Collective Forum are holding their fourth Manawhenua Consultation hui at Roma Marae, Ahipara. The hui will commence at 10:00am and run through to 2:00pm with a break for lunch.

The purpose of this hui is for Te Rarawa Iwi members to review and provide feedback on the process developed by the Forum's Manawhenua subcommittee. Documentation is available for download here:

Ngai Takoto Manawhenua Consultation Hui - July 17, 2010

On Saturday July 17, 2010 Te Hiku o Te Ika Collective Forum are holding their third Manawhenua Consultation hui at Te Paa a Parore Marae, Awanui. The hui will commence at 10:00am and run through to 2:00pm with a break for lunch.

The purpose of this hui is for Ngai Takoto Iwi members to review and provide feedback on the process developed by the Forum's Manawhenua subcommittee. Documentation is available for download here

Social Development Accord Provider Hui

Kia ora koutou,

This Thursday June 17, 2010 Te Hiku Iwi Forum will be hosting a Social Development Accord Provider Hui at Toka Tumoana in Kaitaia and all our whanau are invited to come and participate. The Social Accord is a very unique aspect of the Te Hiku settlement process and the hui has been designed to allow the Te Hiku Forum to present their ideas and vision for the Far North. The hui will kick off at 10:00am and run through to 12:00pm and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Manawhenua Consultation Hui

Kia ora koutou,

On Thursday May 20, 2010 Te Hiku o Te Ika Collective Forum held the first Manawhenua Consultation hui hosted by Ngati Kuri at Waiora Marae. Despite the storm outside, Te Hiku negotiators were joined by iwi constituents from Te Aupouri and Ngati Kuri as they presented the latest Manawhenua Document.

Attached is the AIP Consultation handout which was distributed at both hui held in Kaitaia on December 19th 2010, and in Tamaki-Makau-Rau on December 21st 2010. Inside the handout contains information about the Agreement in Principle that was signed on the 16th January 2010, and was discussed at both hui with Iwi constituents prior to the signing.
